Here at Daisy Bank we are doing our bit at looking after our environment.
The new toilet block built in 2009/10 has been built wherever possible using recycled materials.
The hot water is heated in the new shower block using solar panels
Toilets are flushed using a rainwater harvesting system.
Lights and fans in both shower blocks are on timers to prevent possibility of being left on too long.
There is not much lighting on the park as we do not want to add to light pollution – on a clear night you will have never seen more stars - (please use a torch when going to and from the facilities at night)
We would encourage Recycling as much as possible and are currently able to recycle paper, glass, plastic bottles and cans.
As you can imagine during the summer months we have a lot of grass to cut – all mowings are used as a compost and mulch for our flower beds and as an aid to naturally keeping weeds down in the hedgerows.
Were we can areas are left to provide habitats for wild life, flora and fauna
Bird boxes and bird feeding stations are sited all over the park and we do encourage a very wide range of birds to the site.
